Sailboat rental in Palamós

13/10/2026 by admin

Renting a sailboat in Palamós is for anyone who wants to really sail: switch off the engine, hoist the sails and glide along the coast with nothing but the wind. At Port Marina Palamós you have 3 sailboats, from €245 a day: the Oceanis 331 to skipper yourself, the Bénéteau Oceanis 37 with or without a skipper, and the Sun Odyssey 40 with a skipper.

From 847€ /day

Sailing, with no rush

A sailboat is not the fastest way to get from cove to cove, and that is the whole point. The day takes shape around the wind: a tack along the cliffs, a stop for a swim, lunch on board at anchor and the sail back to port in the afternoon light. You hear the water, not the engine. A sailboat also has more shade and more space below deck than a motorboat of the same size, which you will appreciate in the hottest hours.

Check the weather forecast before you set off. In strong winds it is best to change your plan or your day; if you go with a skipper, they will tell you.

The three sailboats

Oceanis 331 · 8 people · without a skipper

For those who already know how to sail and hold a licence. An easy-to-handle boat for groups of up to 8 people. As it is a sailboat over 6 m long, the Licencia de Navegación is not enough: you need a higher qualification suited to its length. The boat’s page tells you which one.

Bénéteau Oceanis 37 · 10 people · with or without a skipper

The most flexible option. If someone in your group has a licence and experience, you can sail it yourselves. If not, it comes with a skipper and all you have to do is enjoy yourselves, or lend a hand with the ropes if you fancy learning.

Sun Odyssey 40 · 11 people · with a skipper

The largest sailboat in the fleet. It always sails with a professional skipper, so nobody in your group needs a licence. A good choice for groups of friends or families of up to 11 people.

Relaxed routes from Palamós

Heading north, past La Fosca, the coast turns to rock and pine: Cala s’Alguer, Platja del Castell and Cala Estreta, within the Castell–Cap Roig natural area. With more time, you can carry on towards Cap de Planes, the Illes Formigues and the bay of Calella de Palafrugell. We share some ideas in our cove-hopping boat route from Palamós.

Late in the day, a sail with golden light on the cliffs is one of the loveliest things about summer. Bear in mind that in summer the sun sets over the land, not the sea; what you enjoy is the light and the calm water. More in our sunset boat trip.

When you anchor, drop the anchor on sand and never on posidonia, and in summer keep out of the marked swimming zones off the beaches.

Prices

Sailboats are available from €245 per boat per day, VAT included. This is a starting price: it goes up in July and August, and the skippered option is priced differently. Each boat’s page shows what is included, plus insurance, deposit, extras and how fuel for the auxiliary engine is paid.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rent a sailboat without a licence?

Yes, with a skipper: the Sun Odyssey 40 always has one and the Oceanis 37 can have one. To skipper a rental sailboat yourself you need a licence from 1 October 2026 (Royal Decree 1188/2025). We explain it in which licence you need to rent a boat and in boat rental with a skipper.

Do I need to know how to sail?

Only if you are at the helm yourself. With a skipper no experience is needed; if you like, they will teach you the basics during the trip.

Is my foreign licence valid?

Recreational licences from European Economic Area countries and the United Kingdom (including the ICC) are usually accepted, always within what each one allows. Drop us a line before booking and we will check.
