Your first boat with the Licencia de Navegación

Fourteen horsepower and five metres: with the Licencia de Navegación, which you get on a one-day course with no exam, you take the helm yourself. We run through the basics on the pontoon, you head out, and within ten minutes you are steering it.

It is a gentle boat. It is not fast, and that is exactly the point: you go out to anchor, swim and have lunch on board, not to rack up miles.

Built in l’Empordà, with the lines of the traditional llaüt. The same hull local fishermen have used here for generations.

Where to go from Palamós

With the Licencia de Navegación you can sail by day up to two miles from the coast, which in Palamós is more than enough: Cala S’Alguer, Platja de Castell and the whole coastline up to Cala Estreta.

Licence

As of 1 October 2026, a boating licence is compulsory to rent a boat. For this one, the Licencia de Navegación is all you need, and it is the simplest licence there is: a one-day course (two hours of theory and four of practice), with no exam. It allows you to sail by day up to two miles from the coast in boats up to 6 metres long.
